Bathua buzurg is one of the ancient village in bihar.It comes under saraisa pargana as mentioned in a british govt. notification.It is a village of ex landlords who ruled over saraisa pargana.The original residents are Dronwar brahmans a sub caste of Bhumihar brahman.It is said that they migrated from Arabian countries via-sind-punjab-delhi-eastern uttar pradesh-gaya(magadh)-bakhatiarpur(patna) to Bathua Buzurg before advent of Islamic sect.In mugal period they were controlling the area between budhi gandak in north and ganga in south.They never accepted mugals.The main occupation of the people was cultivation because they were landwonners. Education was not in their profits because of jam in dark system they had raised who worked in the farm with the help of cultivation tools and oxen.They had horses,cows,buffaloes ,oxenfor agricultural uses. Cows and buffaloes were main sources of milk.They were good fighters also.One Sri Pahar Singh was chief of army in Kuch BiharEstate of Bengal.In his sixth generation was Sri Khan ter Singh with his son Sri Ram Naray an Sinha whose sons are Dr Sudhir PRASAD Sinha and Dr Prabeen Mums Singh.In Bathua Buzurg cultivation remained main profession.Education was in less priority though village had primary and middle schools much before independenc
