mentiond by the writer of the 'Jaati', even now, wherever we have old temple of Sun, we find the villages/settlment of Bhumihar, may that be the temples at Deo-Barnak, Barahia-Kiul region, Shaharsa-Supaul region, or any other region having the temple dedicated to this deity. Around Gaya, there were a score of Sun Temples, almost all of which destroyed by the invaders and the sculptures collected from the debris of those temples are now housed in the Bodh Gaya Museum, is an important center of Bhumihar settlement. And all these places, except Saharsa, are in Magadha. Its from this Magadhan area, from where they migrated to different region of Bihar and Jharkhand.
